Hi there, I’m Gabriel de Castelaze, an international commercial photographer and filmmaker, based in Paris, France.

I have a master's degree in Marketing from ESSEC Business School, and started pro photography in 2013. I am since working as a freelance photographer and filmmaker, and as a director or DP for bigger productions.

My style has a strong advertising aesthetic, and I consider that editing is 50% of the work on a photo. I'm lucky enough to work on various photography projects around the world, such as events (corporate, weddings...), architecture, travel & tourism, portraits, food and sports.

Outside my beloved Europe, work has brought me to Asia (Singapore, Bangkok, Indonesia, China) and Africa (Cameroon, Senegal, Madagascar). I’m always keen on traveling and discovering new amazing locations to photograph & film.

When shooting portraits, I’m into studio photoshoots as well as environmental portraits. I like to use several flash to shape with light the face of my subjects, enhancing their charysma and emotions.

In filmmaking, I storyboard, direct, edit and colorgrade. My latest video projects includes corporate videos, documentaries, aerial and sports clips. I shot mainly with Canon and Panasonic cameras, and use DJI drones.

I love to tell stories with beautiful visuals, stories that matters and can bring tears to the viewers. In that regard I’m particulary open to missions with NGOs and GOs in difficult countries.

I am a licensed drone pilot (DGAC France), and with authorizations can fly over cities, monuments and infrastructures, to film beautiful sequences.

For bigger projects, I work with an editor from the advertising world, a motion designer and a sound engineer to record audio and manage the mixing & mastering. When filming interviews I work with a make-up artist & a hairdresser.
